Kiwirail has announced an upcoming rail line closure in Auckland from 27 December 2025 to 18 January 2026. These changes will impact rail services to and from Port of Auckland, and rail services to and from Metroport to Hamilton. Nexus wishes to express our full support for this important initiative by KiwiRail and the Government. This work is a crucial step toward futureproofing New Zealand's rail network to meet the growing demands of our transport infrastructure.

We have developed comprehensive alternative solutions to guarantee continuity of service without any service shortfalls. Rest assured, Nexus is well positioned to maintain operations throughout the rail closure, and we are confident that we will provide the best possible service at the same high standard you expect, with no hidden charges. As a result, we want to reassure you that there will be no additional ‘Transport or VBS’ costs incurred by our customers due to these works.
